Welcome to the Office for Technology Transfer

The mission of the Office for Technology Transfer (OTT) is to effectively manage and deploy the intellectual property assets of the University.  OTT is primarily responsible for commercializing the innovations generated by UA faculty, staff and students, either through licenses to industry partners or via the formation of spin-off enterprises based on UA technologies.

Our core function is to serve as the University’s central point-of-contact to:

  1. Educate constituents on intellectual property issues
  2. Receive, process and triage new invention disclosures
  3. Select commercially viable technologies for protection, and manage the prosecution
  4. Create value for protected University technologies via accelerator funding
  5. Promote UA technical expertise and facilities to industrial partners to increase collaboration, research funding and commercialization
