Voltage Positioning Power Controller
The Sensorless Adaptive Voltage Positioning (SLAVP) control is a method that allows for Adaptive Voltage Positioning (AVP) for power convertors without current sensing. By eliminating the need for accurate current sensing and high-resolution high-speed Analog-to-Digital Converters (ADCs), the SLAVP control reduces the size, cost, and power losses from sensing and sampling. The SLAVP simplifies the design and implementation and can therefore be used for a variety of applications and not just for special high-end applications such as powering microprocessors. The SLAVP control can be added to controllers with conventional voltage mode closed loop control without the hardware requirements and cost increase incurred by other AVP controllers. |
